-
Generate more income through agroforestry and bee keeping for 282 families that are members of the community forest.
Project Description:
During this project, different strategies and methods were selected. The first one is supporting tree nurseries. The clients removed the unwanted grasses and weeds from the seedbeds and watered the tree seedlings every day. The total size of the land is 200 square meters, which includes the shelter of tree nurseries and land for vegetables.
Another used tactic is supporting the knowledge about community forestry and the creation of a sustainable system.
Finally, the Community Forestry Management projects focused on silviculture systems. The members of the community forest were trained on these techniques before practicing thinning and pruning methods, such as removing dead, dying, diseased, forked, crooked, clambered and/or less valued trees. Some trees need to be secured during these operations, for example, the rare and endangered species, and all trees with a diameter of more than 10cm.
